He began his coaching career at Northtowns Soccer Club, taking his club team in 2005 to Indoor Nationals in Detroit, Michigan where they won the championship over North Carolina. Since 2004 he’s been at Empire United Buffalo SA coaching various boys and girls youth teams.
While coaching club, he coached the boys (six years) and girls (one year) varsity soccer teams at Cardinal O'Hara High School. Dan moved onto the college scene in 2008, as the women’s head assistant at Division 1 Niagara University, and helped lead them to a 12-6-1 record. In 2009 he was announced as the head women's soccer coach at Daemen College. After going 7-8-1 their first year he lead them to 11 wins the next season and a 15-3 record in 2011, including their first regular season conference championship. Dan was named coach of the year and helped two players make All – American for the first time in school history. Dan is also in his second year at NYW Olympic Development Program coaching with the 1999 girls.
“Development over winning is the key to success at the youth level. It’s our jobs as coaches to help each person develop into the most complete player that we can, before they move on to their next coach or level of play”.
